National Special Education Day is observed on December 2nd to commemorate the anniversary of the signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 1975. The day honors the progress made in special education and raises awareness about the importance of providing children with disabilities access to a free and appropriate public education. It is a time to recognize the work of special education teachers and advocates, celebrate student achievements, and promote inclusion.

⭐️October is National Principals Month, and Hobbs Municipal Schools proudly recognizes the incredible leadership of our principals across the district. Join us in celebrating them this month! ⭐️Each day, our principals live out the values of Hobbs Schools: they keep students at the center of their thoughts and decisions; they pursue sustainable high performance in teaching and learning; they build capacity in themselves, staff, students and families through communication; they model what it means to meet the need in service to others; and they embrace a spirit of innovation in pursuit of making our community better. ⭐️Our principals are more than campus leaders—they are the heartbeat of our schools. Their vision and commitment ensure safe, supportive, and successful learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive. 🦅On behalf of Hobbs Municipal Schools, we extend our deepest gratitude to our principals for the work they do each and every day. Thank you for joining us this month in celebrating and thanking them for making a lasting difference in the lives of our students and our campuses!
